Your store is now on the new design: what changed
Every FreshStore now runs on the new design. Your products, articles, categories, pages and text are all still there. What has changed is where you edit your homepage and the look of your store.
Your edits are a draft until you press Publish. Changes you make in the Store Editor show in the preview, and nobody else sees them. Your storefront keeps showing the old version until you press Publish. If an image you uploaded or a section you added is missing from your store, open the Editor and look for an unpublished draft.
I cannot find Design
The Design menu is in your store admin, not in your FreshStore account area at my.freshstore.com.
From your account, open Stores and click the Design button on the store you want. It logs you into that store and opens the Store Editor in a new tab. The same button sits on each store card on your account front page, where a narrow screen shows the paint brush icon on its own.
The button is not shown while a store is still being installed, or while it is suspended.
Your homepage is built in the Store Editor
Go to Design > Editor. Your store shows on the right and its sections are listed on the left. Click a section in the preview to change it, then press Publish. Nothing reaches your visitors until you do.
The hero, the highlight boxes, the offer box, the testimonials, your homepage text and your featured products, categories and articles are all sections in the Editor. What you had set on your homepage was carried into those sections when your store moved over.
Store > Pages > Homepage now holds titles and SEO
Open the homepage in Store > Pages and you will find the Titles and SEO tabs. The Content, Links, Images and Settings tabs have moved into the Editor, and the page shows an Open the Editor button that takes you there.
The Title and Subtitle on that page are the heading and subheading in your hero. The hero image, layout and button are set in the hero section of the Editor.
Where everything else is
- Themes: Design > Themes. Six looks for your store.
- Colour Scheme: Design > Colour Scheme. Pick a ready-made scheme or set your own colours.
- Typography: Design > Typography. Your three fonts, with ten ready-made pairings.
- Custom CSS: Design > Custom CSS.
- New Page: the button at the top of Store > Pages. You then build the page's content in the Editor.
Switching theme keeps your content
A theme switch replaces the styling: the section layout, the colours and the fonts. Your products, articles, text, images and featured picks stay. For 30 days after a switch, a Revert button at the top of the Themes page puts your previous design back.
What comes next
This is the first stage of the new template system. It gives you more control over Crystal, the template every store runs on today. New templates, each with its own look, come next and run on the same engine.
