If I buy a domain through FreshStore, do I own it?

Yes, you own your domain. Any domain you register through FreshStore belongs to you, and we will transfer it to you or to another registrar whenever you ask.

Who is the registered owner?

You are the owner. The domain is held in FreshStore's registrar account on your behalf, with WHOIS privacy switched on, so your name and address are not published on the public record. That is standard practice and it protects you from the spam and scam mail that public WHOIS details attract.

Ownership and the public record are two different things. Being held in our registrar account does not give us any claim to your domain: it is yours, you decide where it points, and you can take it with you.

Can I move my domain to another registrar later?

Yes. Domains are transferable. If you want to move your domain away from FreshStore to another provider (like GoDaddy or Namecheap), contact support and we will help with the transfer process. Once it is in your own registrar account, the WHOIS details become whatever you set there.

What happens to my domain if I cancel my FreshStore account?

Your domain is yours, so it doesn't disappear if you cancel your store subscription. Contact support if you cancel and want to either transfer the domain to another registrar or keep it registered through us.

How does domain renewal work?

Domains renew annually. The renewal is billed separately to your FreshStore subscription.

Does my domain include an email address?

Domain registration and email hosting are separate things. If you want a branded email address like hello@yourstore.com, see the email setup guide linked below.

Can I point my domain somewhere else while keeping it registered with FreshStore?

Yes. The domain is yours, so you can change where it points at any time. If you want to move your store off FreshStore but keep the domain registered with us, contact support.

I am selling a store. What happens to the domain?

A domain registered through FreshStore moves to your buyer along with the store, so there is no transfer for either of you to arrange. See the Reseller License.
