Article Image Summary Tool - Feature Guide

The Article Image Tool gives you a single view of every article in your store and shows which images are present on each one. It is the fastest way to find articles missing a Listing, Social, or Hero image so you can fix them in a few clicks.

Articles with all three images rank better in search, generate richer previews when shared on social media, and convert more visitors on the page itself. This tool turns image cleanup into a quick, repeatable job.

How it works

FreshStore checks every article for the three image slots that matter most: the Listing image (used in article rolls and category pages), the Social image (used by Facebook, X, LinkedIn, etc. when the article is shared), and the Hero image (the large image at the top of the article page). Any slot that is empty is flagged so you can spot gaps at a glance.

Where to find it

In your store admin, go to Tools > Article Images. You can also reach it from the Store Health overview when articles are missing images.

What you see

The table lists every article in your store with four columns:

  • Article Title: click to edit the article in a new tab.
  • Listing Image: green tick if set, red cross if missing.
  • Social Image: green tick if set, red cross if missing.
  • Hero Image: green tick if set, red cross if missing.

Sort by any column to group articles with missing images together, then use the Edit action on each row to jump straight into the article editor.

Tips

  • Use the built-in PixaBay Images picker for free, royalty-free stock photos.
  • Use the AI Image Generator when you want a unique image that nobody else has.
  • Prioritise the Social image first if you share articles on Facebook or X. A missing Social image gives you a blank or auto-cropped preview, which kills click-through.
  • Run this tool every month or so. New articles, theme changes, and image deletions can all leave gaps.

Troubleshooting

  • If an article shows a red cross but you can see an image on the live page, the slot you are checking may be empty while a fallback is being used. Open the article and set the specific image type to remove the warning.
  • Newly uploaded images may take a moment to register. Refresh the page if a tick has not appeared.
