Get indexed in Google fast

Getting your store indexed means getting Google to discover and add your pages to its search results. Until your pages are indexed, they won't appear in any search results, no matter how good your content is.

FreshStore includes several features that speed up indexing automatically, but there are extra steps you can take to get found even faster.

What FreshStore Does Automatically

Before doing anything manually, it's worth knowing what FreshStore already handles for you:

  • XML Sitemap. Your store generates a sitemap automatically that lists all your pages. Search engines use this to discover your content.
  • IndexNow. FreshStore notifies search engines like Google and Bing instantly whenever you add or change content. This is one of the fastest ways to get indexed.
  • Robots.txt. Your store includes a properly configured robots.txt file that tells search engines where to find your sitemap and what to crawl.
  • Clean URLs and structure. FreshStore generates search-engine-friendly URLs and HTML that are easy for Google to crawl.

Steps to Get Indexed Fast

1. Add your store to Google Search Console

This is the single most important step. Google Search Console lets you submit your store directly to Google and monitor how it appears in search results.

2. Submit your XML sitemap

Once your store is added to Google Search Console, submit your sitemap. This tells Google about every page on your store in one go.

Your sitemap URL is: https://yourstoreurl.com/sitemap.xml

3. Request indexing for key pages

In Google Search Console, you can paste any URL from your store into the URL Inspection tool and click "Request Indexing". This asks Google to crawl that specific page as a priority.

Use this for your most important pages: your homepage, top categories, and best articles.

4. Share your store on social media

Google's crawlers follow links from social media platforms. Sharing your store and content on Facebook, X, Pinterest, Reddit, and other platforms creates links that help Google discover your pages.

5. Build backlinks

When other websites link to your store, Google discovers those links and follows them to your pages. Even a few early backlinks from relevant websites can speed up indexing significantly.

6. Add your store to Bing

Don't forget about Bing. It powers several AI search tools and has its own audience. Submitting to Bing Webmaster Tools takes just a few minutes.

How Long Does Indexing Take?

With the steps above, your homepage and main pages can be indexed within a few days. Some pages may take longer, especially if your store is brand new.

FreshStore's IndexNow feature helps significantly by notifying search engines the moment new content is published, rather than waiting for them to discover it on their own.

Be patient. A brand new store with a new domain has no history with Google. It takes time to build trust. Keep adding content, sharing on social media, and building links. Indexing speeds up as Google learns to trust your store.

Troubleshooting

My store isn't showing in Google after a week

  • Check Google Search Console. Look for crawl errors or issues that might be preventing indexing.
  • Make sure your store is set to "Live". If your store is still in "Coming Soon" mode, search engines may not index it.
  • Check in an incognito window. Sometimes your normal browser cache hides search results. Search for your store URL in an incognito/private window.

I recently changed my domain

If you moved your store to a new domain, Google needs time to re-index everything under the new URLs. FreshStore creates redirects automatically, but it can take a few weeks for Google to fully process the change.

My domain has a bad history

If you bought a previously owned domain, it may have a negative history with Google (spam, penalties). Check Google Search Console for any manual actions. If you find issues, consider using a different domain.

Only some pages are indexed

This is normal for new stores. Google indexes pages gradually, starting with the ones it considers most important. Keep adding content and building links. More pages will be indexed over time.
