XML Sitemap - Feature Guide

An XML sitemap is a list of pages in your store in a specific format. It is used to help index and rank your stores in Google, Bing and other search engines.

Your store automatically creates the XML sitemap and updates it regularly. It contains a list of your products, articles, categories, pages, etc. and can be customized.

Your XML Sitemap is updated automatically every 24 hours.

Customizing Your XML Sitemap

In your store admin area, go to "Traffic -> XML Sitemap" to find some options, including the size and method for choosing products.

We recommend not making your XML Sitemap too big when launching your store. The default is to have 100 products included, and you can increase that over time.

You can exclude a page/product/article/etc by editing it and changing the "In XML Sitemap" option under the "Settings" tab.

Clear your store cache after making changes to apply them right away.

Your XML Sitemap Link

The XML sitemap is always located in the same place:

https://YOURSTORE.COM/sitemap.xml

Replace YOURSTORE.COM with your store's domain.

Viewing Your XML Sitemap

If you open the XML sitemap in your browser, you will see a lot of code - this is perfectly normal.

You may also see a message like "This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.". This is also normal and expected.

Updating your XML Sitemap

Your XML Sitemap will automatically update every 24 hours. It will include any new articles, products, categories etc.

You do not need to update your XML Sitemap manually, although you may choose to do so before you first submit your store to Google and other search engines.

To update your XML Sitemap manually, go to "Traffic -> Search Engines -> XML Sitemap" and click the "Recreate" button.
