Can I add DNS records to my custom domain?
Yes. You add them yourself in your account, and you no longer need to contact support.
How to add a DNS record
- Go to Domains in your account.
- Find your domain and click DNS. You can also click Manage and open the DNS Records tab.
- Click Add Record.
- Choose the Type: A, AAAA, CNAME, TXT, MX or SRV.
- Enter the Name. Use
@for the domain itself, or a subdomain likemail. - Paste the value the other service gave you into Content, and leave the TTL as it is.
- Click Add record.
You can edit or delete your own records from the same table at any time.
What are DNS records?
For some services, such as MailChimp or Google Workspace, you may need to add an MX, TXT or CNAME record to your domain name. The service tells you exactly what to add, and you copy it into the form above.
Some records have a lock icon and are marked Managed by FreshStore. These connect your domain to your store and keep its SSL certificate working, so they cannot be changed. Everything else is yours to edit.
Why can't I see the DNS button?
The DNS editor is only available for custom domains whose nameservers point at FreshStore. Free FreshStore addresses and subdomains do not have one, because their DNS belongs to the parent domain.
