Creating content for your store

You never start from a blank page. Your store came with its content written, and every new piece is drafted for you too. This guide covers what the AI writes, and the ten minutes you spend on top of it that make the difference.

What is already written

  • Your homepage. Written to your niche, describing what your store sells and who it is for.
  • Your About page. Ready to edit, which is the page most store owners never get round to writing.
  • Your articles. A set published at build time, and more whenever you want them from the Article Writer.
  • Your products. Titles, feature lists, descriptions and meta tags, turned from merchant copy into something a person can read.
  • Your categories and brands. Descriptions on each, explaining what the visitor will find.

The ten minutes that are yours

AI gives you speed. Your knowledge gives you the reason someone picks your store over the dozens of others on the topic. Open a draft and add:

  • Something you know. A detail, a preference, a thing you learned the hard way. One paragraph is enough.
  • An opinion. Recommend one product over another and say why.
  • A specific. "The best yoga mat for hot yoga" beats "yoga mats are good".
  • A picture near the top, and a link to a related product where it helps the reader.

Ten minutes an article, once a week, and your store pulls ahead of every store whose owner published the draft untouched.

Choosing the right format

Every article answers one question, and the format follows from the question. This is the one decision worth making before you brief the Article Writer:

Format Best for Example
Buying guide People ready to buy "Best espresso machines under $500"
How-to guide People looking for help "How to clean an espresso machine"
Comparison People deciding between two options "Nespresso vs Keurig"
Listicle People browsing and discovering "10 must-have kitchen gadgets"
FAQ Very specific questions "Can you use vinegar to clean a coffee machine?"

Deciding what comes next

  • Originality. Skip what everyone else has written. In an exercise bike niche, "benefits of exercise bikes" is taken. "Exercise bike routines for people recovering from knee surgery" is not.
  • Profitability. Comparisons, buying guides and roundups lead visitors towards your affiliate links. Lean commercial when you pick the next one.
  • Consistency. Treat your content as a connected set. Link related pieces together and group them into series.
  • Maintenance. Every few months, open an older article: update what has changed, add a new product, check the links. Five minutes each.
