Note: If you are adding a store on a custom domain, you can choose the TXT verification. Once you have the TXT record, please contact customer support to have them add it to your DNS.

About your XML Sitemap

Your store automatically provides all its pages to search engines using an XML Sitemap.

The search engines will automatically find this sitemap because it is listed in your "robots.txt" file. However, you can submit this link inside your Google Search Console and/or Bing Webmaster Tools to help them find it quickly.

Troubleshooting

Google says verification failed

If Google can't verify your store with the TXT record, check the following:

  • Wait at least an hour after the TXT record was added. DNS changes can take time to propagate across the internet.
  • Confirm support added the exact value Google gave you (the full string, including the google-site-verification= prefix).
  • In Google Search Console, click Verify again to retry.
  • If you are using the HTML file verification method instead of TXT, switch to TXT. FreshStore stores don't allow uploading arbitrary verification files.
