Using your RSS feeds to generate traffic

Your FreshStore automatically generates RSS feeds for your products, articles, and categories. You can use these feeds to automatically share your store content on social media, saving you time and driving consistent traffic.

What Are RSS Feeds?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds are live data feeds that update whenever you add or change content in your store. Social media tools can read these feeds and automatically post your content to your profiles.

This means every time you add a new product or article, it can be shared on your social media without you lifting a finger.

Where to Find Your RSS Feeds

Go to Traffic > RSS Feeds in your store dashboard. You will find links to all available feeds for your store, including feeds for products, articles, and categories.

You can also find RSS feeds for individual categories by editing a category and clicking the "Traffic" tab.

How to Automate Social Posting

There are several tools that can read your RSS feeds and post automatically to social media. Here are some popular options:

dlvr.it

A popular RSS-to-social tool with a free plan. Connect your store's RSS feed and it will automatically post to Facebook, X (Twitter), and other platforms.

IFTTT

A free automation tool that connects RSS feeds to hundreds of platforms. You can create "recipes" like "When a new item appears in my RSS feed, post it to my Facebook page".

Setting Up Automated Posting

The basic process is the same for most tools:

  1. Sign up for the automation tool of your choice
  2. Copy your RSS feed URL from your FreshStore dashboard
  3. Paste it into the tool as your "source"
  4. Connect your social media accounts as "destinations"
  5. Configure how often to post (we recommend 2-5 posts per day for new accounts)
  6. Add relevant hashtags for your niche
  7. Start posting

Tips for RSS Social Posting

  • Start slow. Post 2-5 items per day on new social accounts. Increase gradually as your following grows.

  • Use the random products feed. This rotates through your products so your social profiles show variety rather than the same items repeatedly.

  • Add hashtags. Most tools let you add hashtags to every post. Include your store name and 2-3 niche keywords.

  • Don't rely on automation alone. Automated RSS posting keeps your profiles active, but you should also post manually, engage with followers, and share content from other sources.

  • Monitor engagement. Check which posts get the most clicks and adjust your approach accordingly.

RSS automation is a "set it and forget it" traffic strategy. It takes 15 minutes to set up and runs indefinitely, keeping your social profiles active with fresh content.
