Colour Schemes - Feature Guide
Colour Schemes give your store a cohesive look in seconds. Pick from a curated palette and FreshStore applies it to your title text, links, and buttons across every page of your storefront.
How it works
A colour scheme is a curated combination of three colours that controls the most visible parts of your store theme:
- Title colour: the main heading colour used on category names, product titles, and page headings.
- Links colour: the colour of text links, plus the hover state.
- Buttons colour: the background colour of primary buttons (Add to Cart, View Product, etc.).
FreshStore ships around 18 ready-made schemes, including Indigo Go, Blue Dream, Lush Green, Blood Orange, Pastel Pink, Bookworm, Toy Box, Healthy Leaves, Summer Shower, Luscious Lemonade, Water Foam, Bright Lights, Pasture of Dreams, Forever Fields, Purple Haze, Coral Sunset, Minty Fresh, and Earthy Clay.
You can change the scheme as often as you like. Save, view your store, and try another if it does not feel right.
Where to find it
In your store admin, go to Store > Design > Style > Colour Scheme. You will see every scheme laid out with a name, a short description, and the three colour swatches.

Choosing a scheme by niche
The best scheme is usually the one that matches the mood of your niche. A few starting points:
- Coffee, books, vintage: Bookworm (warm browns and a touch of gold).
- Golf, garden, outdoors: Lush Green, Healthy Leaves, or Pasture of Dreams.
- Health, wellness, eco: Healthy Leaves, Minty Fresh, or Water Foam.
- Tech, finance, B2B: Indigo Go, Blue Dream, or Bright Lights.
- Food, cooking, BBQ: Blood Orange, Coral Sunset, or Forever Fields.
- Beauty, fashion, kids: Pastel Pink, Toy Box, or Pasture of Dreams.
- Luxury, premium, bold: Purple Haze or Earthy Clay.
- Summer, beach, travel: Summer Shower, Luscious Lemonade, or Water Foam.
Tip: pick the scheme that feels closest to your niche, save it, and view your store. You can always come back and try another.
Settings and options
Each scheme is a single choice that updates three things at once:
- Title: headings on product, category, and content pages.
- Links (and hover): in-content links and menu items.
- Buttons: the background colour of primary action buttons.
Click the scheme you want, then click Save Colour Scheme. Your storefront updates straight away.
Tips
- Match your logo to the scheme. If you need to refresh your logo, see How to change your store logo or try the AI Logo Designer.
- Open your storefront in a new tab while you test schemes so you can flip back and forth.
- Check both the home page and a product page. Buttons and links show up differently across page types.
- Want fully custom colours that are not in the preset list? You can add custom CSS via Header Scripts. See Can I add custom CSS to my store?
Troubleshooting
- I do not see my new colours on the storefront. Hard refresh the page (Cmd+Shift+R on Mac, Ctrl+F5 on Windows) to bypass the browser cache.
- The admin still looks the same. That is expected. Colour schemes only style the public storefront, not your admin area.
- None of the schemes match my brand. Pick the closest one, then layer custom CSS on top via Header Scripts to fine-tune individual colours.
- I want to change just the logo or images, not colours. See How to change your store logo and Improving your brand.
