Other income streams

FreshStore has built-in support for Amazon, eBay, Walmart, AliExpress and Etsy. Once your store has traffic, there are other ways to earn from it. This guide covers the affiliate networks beyond the built-in five, and the income streams that are not affiliate commissions at all.

Why look beyond the built-in networks?

  • Higher commissions. Some networks pay 20 to 50 per cent, against Amazon's typical 1 to 10.
  • Products Amazon doesn't carry. Specialist merchants often serve a niche better than the giants do.
  • Recurring commissions. Some programmes pay every month for as long as the customer stays subscribed.
  • Longer cookie windows. Amazon gives you 24 hours. Many networks give you 30, 60 or 90 days.

The networks worth knowing

  • Awin. Large, strongest in Europe, growing in the US, good for fashion, travel and finance. ShareASale has been folded into Awin, so new signups should go straight here.
  • CJ Affiliate. One of the oldest and largest, working with major brands. Best once your store has some traffic behind it.
  • Impact. Modern platform used by a lot of software and tech companies, with strong tracking.
  • ClickBank. Digital products, with commissions of 50 to 75 per cent. Strong in health, fitness, self improvement and business.

Don't sign up to all of them. Pick one or two that carry products your audience actually wants.

Two ways to promote them

Custom Offers. Add any affiliate link as a buy button on any product, alongside your Amazon and eBay offers. This is the right approach when a specific product is also available through another merchant.

Links in articles. Sign up, get your link, and write a review or recommendation around it. This works especially well in roundups, comparisons and how-to guides, where recommending a tool is the natural thing to do anyway. ClickBank products are promoted this way rather than as store listings, because ClickBank's rules do not allow the store format.

Income that is not a commission

Your email list. The most direct way to reach people who already like your niche. Use the built-in newsletter signup to collect addresses, then send your best content and product picks.

🔗 Newsletters and email marketing

Sponsored content. As your traffic and authority grow, brands in your niche may pay you to feature or write about their products. Common in technology, beauty, fitness and home products. This one tends to arrive on its own once you have consistent traffic, a social presence and content that shows you know the subject.

Digital products. If you know your niche well, sell something of your own alongside the affiliate products. An ebook or guide, printable checklists and templates, or a video course on a platform like Teachable or Gumroad. A "Complete Beginner's Guide to Home Brewing" sits naturally next to a coffee equipment store.

Referrals. Recommending FreshStore itself pays recurring, lifetime commissions, and it is the one product on this page you can talk about from experience.

🔗 Refer FreshStore

Whatever you promote, disclose it. Telling visitors a link is an affiliate link builds trust, and in many countries it is required by law.

One at a time

There is no rush and no order you have to follow. Affiliate commissions come first because they are already running. After that, add one stream whenever you fancy it and give it long enough to tell whether it worked. Each one you add keeps paying without needing the last one back.
