Outsourcing your stores

You do not have to do any of this yourself. Most of it your store already does for you, and anything left over can be handed to somebody else for very little. This guide covers what to hand over, and to whom.

Start with the AI tools

The cheapest and fastest help is already in your store, and it is free of anybody's diary but yours. The Article Writer generates unique content in seconds, which keeps your store publishing in the weeks when you have nothing to give it.

Treat what it produces as a first draft. Read it, and add your own voice and experience where you have some. That is what makes it worth something to your visitors, and to Google.

Handing content to freelancers

Where you want a human touch the AI cannot give you, Upwork is a good place to find freelance writers. You can hire for specific tasks and build up your own small team of people you go back to. It is also where you will find a virtual assistant who can come up with topics, keep a content calendar, and add the articles to your store for you.

Fiverr is the other option, and it is usually better value for shorter pieces and product descriptions.

Handing over social media and video

Fiverr also covers logo creation, video, and voiceovers. For a small budget you can have promotional videos made for YouTube and for your store, covering specific products or topics in your niche. Upwork has social media managers who will handle posting, engagement and scheduling across your platforms.

Making it work

  • Start small. Hand over one task and see how it goes before committing to more. There is nothing to sign and nothing to commit to.
  • Write a clear brief. The more specific your instructions, the better the result. Send an example of what good looks like.
  • Read it before it publishes. It is your store and your name on it.
  • Keep the good ones. A freelancer who already knows your niche and your voice gets better with every job, and needs less from you each time.

Do this across two or three stores and the whole thing runs on a few hours of your attention a month.
