Starting an X (Twitter) profile
X (formerly Twitter) can give your store valuable backlinks and social signals.
Creating an X Account
First, create a dedicated X account for your store niche. Head to x.com or open the X app and sign up with a handle that is the same or similar to your store name (for example, @GadgetGearGuide)
Use a unique account per store, unless you have multiple stores sharing the same niche.
Optimize your profile so visitors know exactly who you are and where to find your store. Upload a clear logo as your profile image, and add a simple banner that highlights your store name or tagline.
In your bio, write a one-sentence description that includes your niche keywords, and paste your FreshStore URL into the website field.
Build your network
Start by following influencers, complementary affiliates, and bloggers within your niche. A targeted feed gives you content to engage with and helps you discover potential collaborators.
When you post, maintain a 5:1 ratio of value-driven content (tips, mini-threads, polls) to product-focused updates (i.e. links to your store). This blend keeps followers interested without feeling spammed.
Engage with others
Engagement is key to growing backlinks and expanding your reach. Retweet and quote-tweet niche-relevant posts - especially from users who might return the favor. Like and reply to tweets that align with your storeβs theme.
Pay extra attention to accounts that share your content. Prioritize interacting with those to grow the reciprocity.
Monitor and grow
Monitor your progress and tweak your approach. Track your increase in followers, engagement rates (likes, retweets, replies), and click-throughs on your affiliate links. If certain post types perform better (e.g. polls over threads) lean into those formats.
Adjust your posting frequency if you notice low engagement.
